Farewell Speedy, We Hardly Knew Ye
Speedy escaped.
I’m not certain how. We recently got a new cage from a friend, and he managed to weasel out of some little spot somewhere that I haven’t been able to locate. I taped off any holes and made sure the doors were secure. Despite my efforts, I noticed a nice little gift from his bowels this morning right at the door of his cage that he apprently left on his way to his destiny.
I’m pretty sure we’ll never see him again. My wife has a fear that we’ll find him dead and shriveled somewhere rather inconvenient, but if he got out of that cage, he can certainly get out of the house. And since snakes can literally live for something like a year without food, I’m sure he’ll be fine.
Until winter rolls around, that is.
