I just had to practically sit on my daughter after a few minutes of wrestling so I could… pull a splinter from her finger. She had been crying about it, so I told her to stop crying or I would have to simply pull it out. Of course, she wouldn’t let me try (she wanted to wait to show mommy, which wouldn’t happen for another six hours), so I eventually had to just make it happen. It surprising how much strength an injured four year old has.
Pulling the splinter was like trying to play a game of Operation while riding shotgun in the Baja 1000, but I eventually got it. She’s still crying, which makes me think I may have traumatized her. At least she doesn’t have a splinter anymore!
