We spent the past weekend camping down at Lake of the Ozarks. It’s a very pretty part of the country… almost unexpected, particularly since it’s the middle of Missouri. You see, I grew up thinking Missouri = practically Kentucky (or Arkansas, depending on which you feel is more Deliverance).

We took one of the best hikes I’ve ever been on today. It was up McCullough Gulch, which is just off of Hoosier Pass on the Breckenridge side. I posted a few pics of our family adventure at www.flickr.com/photos/summitpierce/tags/mcculloughgulch/.
Today we took a hike up above town on an easy little trail called Mesa Cortina. The kids can’t handle anything too intense, but they enjoy getting out and tromping around in the wilderness.
